If you always want to keep your heart healthy and safe from deadly diseases, then it is in your own hands.
Yes,
your dietary choices affect heart health.
This
was revealed in a medical study in China.
The
study, by the Harbin Medical University School of Public Health, found that
Western-style foods, including refined foods (white double bread, flour and
bakery products, etc.), cheese and processed meats could increase the risk of
heart disease.
Research
has also shown that eating white potatoes or other starchy foods after meals
can also play a role in heart disease.
In
contrast, the use of fruits at lunch and vegetables and dairy products at
dinner play a role in preventing heart disease.
People
are increasingly concerned about what should be in their diet and when they
should eat, the researchers said.
"Our
results show a wide variety of food intake and meal times, which are very
important for good health," he said.
"Eating
a fruit after breakfast, fruit at lunch, and vegetables and dairy products at
night are good for heart health," he added.
The
study included dietary details of more than 21,000 adults who were part of a
dietary survey between 2003 and 2014.
Examination
of these data showed that eating a Western-style diet increased the risk of
death from heart and coronary heart disease by 44%.
Similarly,
prioritizing fruits for lunch reduces the risk of death from heart and coronary
heart disease diseases by 34%.
According
to research, eating vegetables at night reduces the risk of death from heart
disease by 23% and the risk of death from any cause by 31%.
Eating
more starchy foods at any given time can increase the risk of death from any
cause by 50 to 52 percent and the risk of heart disease by 57 percent.
Researchers
say that food intake, quantity and time are all important for good health, the
right timing of the diet regulates the body's metabolism while reducing the
risk of cancer and coronary heart disease.
The
findings were published in the medical journal Journal of the American Heart
Association.
